Frisco Yard Waste Collection Resumes; 'DIY' Drop Off Service Continues
(April 10, 2020) Beginning Monday, April 13, the City of Frisco will resume yard waste collections, weekly. Residents must place materials out for ‘pickup’ on their regularly scheduled collection day; however, service will be delayed three days in an effort minimize the health risk for collection employees.
For example, if your collection day is Monday, place items out Monday for pickup and your items will be collected Thursday. The do-it-yourself drop off service for yard waste at Environmental Services will continue.
“Please be patient during this time as we work with our contractor to resume service,” said Jeremy Starritt, Environmental Services Manager. “We’re also asking people to avoid putting trash in recycling carts. When that happens, it contaminates the entire truckload of recyclables, which must then be taken to the landfill. The more material we take to the landfill, the higher our trash bill.”
Starritt says proper recycling contributes to lower trash collection costs. Increasing trash tonnage may impact collection rates.
Residents may also take yard waste to the following, disposal alternatives:
Yard Waste:
• Custer Road Transfer Station, 9901 Custer Road, Plano
• City of Frisco Environmental Services, ‘DIY’ Drop Off Service, 6616 Walnut St.
